Umpire Mentorship

Softball Manitoba Mentorship

What is the program about?

Young umpires consistently drop out of officiating after they encounter situations they are not yet confident in handling- namely negative feedback from coaches, players and parents. The Softball Manitoba Umpire Development Committee (UDC) has developed a program whereby officials in their first 3 years of officiating can be paired up with a mentor. Mentors provide support, encouragement and advice to new officials.

How do I get a mentor

Umpires are encouraged to contact their local UIC, or fill out this form.
